"Do I have enough people for a private hibachi event?" is one of the first questions most hosts ask. The good news: you probably do. Our $550 event minimum makes private hibachi accessible for groups much smaller than most people expect — and the experience scales beautifully all the way up to large parties of 30 or more.

The Event Minimum Explained

We charge $55 per adult (13+) and $30 per child (4–12), with a $550 event minimum. The minimum simply means the total bill needs to reach at least $550 — it doesn't dictate a specific headcount. Children under 4 eat free and don't count toward the minimum.

How Many Adults to Hit the Minimum?

• 10 adults × $55 = $550 — exactly at minimum
• 8 adults + 2 children (4–12) = $440 + $60 = $500 — just under, minimum still applies
• 8 adults alone = $440 — minimum still applies, you pay $550
• 12 adults = $660 — above minimum, you pay $660
• 15 adults = $825
• 20 adults = $1,100
• 30 adults = $1,650

What's the Ideal Group Size?

The sweet spot for a private hibachi event is 10–20 guests. It's large enough to feel like a real party and small enough that every guest gets personal attention from the chef. The live cooking show plays best when guests are gathered close enough to interact with the chef — that's typically 8–15 people per grill.

Can You Do It for Just 2 or 4 People?

Absolutely. A romantic date-night hibachi for two is one of the most memorable experiences you can create at home. A small family of four works perfectly. You'll pay the $550 minimum regardless of size, so think of it as the cost of the full chef service — the food is a bonus. Many couples find the private, intimate setting far more appealing than a noisy restaurant shared with strangers.

Large Groups: Is There a Maximum?

There's no hard cap on guest count, but larger groups (20+) may benefit from two chefs and two grills running simultaneously to keep cooking times reasonable. When you book, just let us know your headcount and we'll advise on the best setup. We've done events of 50+ guests — it just takes a little more coordination.

Kids at Hibachi Events

• Kids are often the most enthusiastic part of any hibachi crowd
• Chefs adapt the entertainment to the audience — more tricks when kids are around

When you fill out our booking form, enter your expected adult and child counts. We'll confirm the total, answer any questions, and lock in your chef. If your headcount changes before the event, just let us know — we're flexible as long as we have at least 24 hours notice.
